The bus stops outside of the city center and train station limited flexibility for exploring beyond Venosa, and language barriers with the staff occasionally made communication more difficult than needed.

Spent my xmas at a hidden gem in Southern Italy. The hotel is located in an old palace, which has been beautifully restored. It's just a short walk to the town center, where you can enjoy the Roman and medieval sights. The staff were very friendly and even gave me a parking pass so I could easily park my car in the town center. The WIFI was fast and reliable too.
